Café Pierrot has been in business for 30 years building a bakery, restaurant, and catering service based out of Andover and Sparta, NJ. We are looking for someone who is experienced with baking and cake decorating, extraordinary attention to detail, and a quick learner. Someone who loves collaboration, effective communication, and operates with a growth mindset. Ideal candidates will possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to be on a tight-knit team of a growing company. This position would be perfect for someone looking to exercise their skills and bring new ideas to the table.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

  • Follow recipes, mix, shape, bake, assemble, and produce products of specified flavor, texture, size, and color
  • Set up, operate, and tend equipment that cooks, mixes, blends or processes ingredients in the production of food products, according to formulas or recipes
  • Mixing, baking, filling, icing and decorating cakes and cupcakes with buttercream and/or fondant
  • Mixing, cutting, baking, and decorating cookies with fondant and royal icing
  • Prepare custom-made products based on customers’ preferences (e.g. birthday cakes)
  • Take a complete and accurate inventory of supplies weekly and re-order supplies and ingredients as needed
  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment
  • Occasionally execute product deliveries


  • Experience as a Baker, Cake Decorator, Pastry Chef or similar role
  • Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, and dough sheeters
  • Understanding and execution of food safety/sanitation practices and protocols
  • Proficient in buttercream, fondant, and royal icing decorating
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, time and resource management and planning skills
  • Positive team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
  • Flexibility to work in early morning shifts or overnight shifts, Saturdays required
  • Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work in and out of different temperature ranges.
  • Certification from a culinary school is a plus
  • ServeSafe certified
  • Attention to detail, basic math and computer skills
